RJ & Erica's SM and a red vintage car engagement session
Geof Lagria, the stylist for this shoot asked me a fews weeks ago if I was okay with the idea of doing a session inside SM’s cinema. I argued with myself that it should be okay. That I should be open to anything new. I considered renting lights! But my heart wasn’t really into it. I told him with all honesty, it wouldn’t be me if I went ahead and said yes. In my head, I imagined a dramatic photo but it’s not my style. I want light! The more light the merrier the photos. The colorful, the better!
If I went ahead with a half baked yes, I don’t think I will be able to bring out the best in the session. I didn’t want to disappoint them and myself. I feel lost when it’s dark. In every wedding, I’d pray for a room with a big window for dress up time. Late afternoon is the best time to do sessions because the light is soft and it gives the photos a mellow and soft touch. That is my favorite time of day.
Here are some photos of RJ and Erica’s engagement session. We started really early because we wanted a deserted SM.

It was my first time here! The Cube in the soon to open SM sea side. I always see this structure every time I go cycling. I didn’t expect it to look so huge. Erica was so game, she climbed the cube even when the heat was sweltering and although it looks clean, it was covered in dust.
When I saw this frame, I told to my melodramatic self — like a speck of sunlight, I found you!!!
