Last June, I photographed Marc and Jenny’s wedding.

My favorite memory of their wedding was when they saw each other for the first time. In the wedding world, people coined it as the first look. It is not commonly practiced in the Philippines because we follow numerous wedding traditions. The old folks would usually insist. Thus, when I broach the first look subject, I would always ask questions like – are you comfortable doing the first look thingy? Do you think your parents won’t mind?

The majority though shrug the idea off!  They tell me that they want to see each other at church. When Tisha Cue of Bliss Unlimited told me that they will do the first look, I was super excited. Marc was nervous (although they’ve been married in the US already) before seeing Jenny. He had a bouquet of sunflowers to give her. He cried when they saw each other. Jenny giggled! They embraced! We were there mesmerized by the moment too!

I wish there’d be more mesmerizing, tear-jerking, nerve-wracking, and exciting first look moments!
