Jacob’s mom sent me a text message last December asking if we could do a photo session for her three months old baby boy.  She said she didn’t have a proper maternity and newborn photo session.

I remember telling Guada, the stylist for this session that we can’t let him sit because he’s just three.  We can’t also make him stand because that’s like asking for something that is not bound to happen at three.  I think when it comes to taking pictures of babies, their milestones should be considered seriously.  Photo sessions should be done in an environment that stimulates their senses.  But more importantly, their safety should be highly considered.  That’s why I always ask about the location.  I must say I am conservative with my ideas about baby sessions.  Safety and their comfort is my top priority.  They should be well rested (best is after a nap) and fed (adults gets cranky when hungry, what more with babies).

After all, unlike adults babies can’t fake it.  They can’t pretend to look happy when they’re not.  And when babies aren’t, parents won’t be happy too.
