I

It was my first shoot after a six-month hiatus because of the pandemic. I was a little nervous and worried. I had to dig deep for confidence. I felt that I didn’t know how to work the camera anymore. Because unlike the rest of my photo-related friends, I didn’t go for homebound shoots. I placed my equipment in a dry box. It was their home for six months.

Life got in the way! I didn’t even update my website like I used to. I didn’t share my work because I just didn’t feel like it. I was a bit selfish. I was busy living!

When I held my camera again, it felt like home. I felt normal and back to my old self. It was only then that I realized that I deprived myself of creating something beautiful like taking pictures. I shut down my creative output and holed up sad at home because I couldn’t do what I used to do.

Shooting families has always been my thing aside from documenting intimate weddings. Way before this pandemic started, I immersed myself in weddings that were small but authentic. So if I get to document a wedding during this time, I wouldn’t feel lost. I’d welcome it with open arms.

Family shoots, on the other hand, are one of my favorite sessions to document. Sharing with you a family session I did last Sunday. We went up the mountains and utilized the outdoors.
