Indian inspired engagement session: Dee & Cha

A lot happened behind Dee and Cha’s engagement session.

We were supposed to just do Movenpick Hotel, but as artists (I’m not sure if we have the right to call ourselves that) wanted much more. We envisioned a modified Indian theme – trees, Indian prints and some colors. We suggested we head over to the abandoned Tambuli Resort.

We have utilized the area a couple of times before. It’s a huge property, but that day was crazy. The fat caretaker looked like she wanted to eat us and pass out all at the same time. We refused to pay another hundred bucks per head (aside from the entrance fee), not because we couldn’t afford it, but because she treated us badly. I, on the other hand, found it hilarious because what is there to maintain in an already abandoned place. Plus the sight of the caretaker cracked me up! She was raging mad and all! Trembling and screaming! Her eyes looked so huge. It looked like it occupied her face.

I just want to say that during shoots a lot could happen. A planned location can sometimes be changed into someplace else. A concept can be enhanced or changed the last minute. The intention of the photographer is to make the photos more interesting. These unexpected changes or enhancements are like spontaneous creativity that came out of nowhere. There is light to consider. Aesthetics and a lot more!

I swear to God I’m never going back to that place ever again. After Tambuli, we felt so lost. Cha and Dee wanted to move the session to another date. Because who would want to be photographed in a disrupted frame of mind. But I’m glad they gave it a go.
