When wedding videographers say I do: Glen and Yeye
It is not always that I get to document a love story of people that I work with. I felt the pressure when I showed up for their big day. So many what ifs came to mind! What if their expectation of me was so high that it would take me to clim Everest to meet it. What if they won’t like my work. One what if after another! I had to remind myself that I was being ridiculous again.
When I entered Yeye’s dress up room, her hair was being done. She greeted me with a Hi and all I could tell her was that it felt strange seeing her there. A happy kind of strange! It wasn’t usual that I’d be taking pictures of her as the bride. The usual is that we work side by side during weddings. We laughed while we went through the whole process of documenting her wedding. I jokingly told her that she knows what’s going to happen next. When it was that time when I asked her to pose with her gown for some shots, she didn’t know what to do. Her hands were so cold and she told me that she was very nervous.
Glen was a different person that day. He was all smiles. Shy, I must say! But his grin was contagious. I wasn’t used to seeing him grin that way because when we work together he’s serious and always on a lookout for moments and the things that needs to be done. It was refreshing seeing him all made up and yes, very, very happy!
Seeing Glen and Yeye together made me believe again (and again) that happy-ever-after do come true. It make take awhile for some. Some needs to work hard for and on it. And some doesn’t even know that they already have their happy-ever-after already. Because when LIFE happens, it is easy to forget that we are living that dream. When reality (bills, family, work, obligations, deadlines, etc.) chase us everyday, it is easy to be blinded by pressure and stress and what needs to be done! We forget the little things and the people we sometimes or most of the time take for granted. Glen and Yeye reminded me that day that at the end of the day, LOVE will always prevail.
I love what Glen said to Yeye, “I will love you beyond the stories that we make on screen!” It was on point! It summed up everything.
Thank you to you for making me a part of your love story.
