The last wedding I photographed for 2011: Arl & Pipil

Theirs was the last wedding we photographed for 2011.

I am extremely grateful to all of the beautiful couples and families I had the opportunity of meeting.  Some went beyond the stiff client and photographer relationship.  They became my friends.  Others made me a part of their lives.

So, maybe I am where I am because this is what I do best.  It is art and self-expression that encourages me to grow and learn more.   I am here not to compete with the best wedding photographers out there.  That is not how I do things.  I am here because I love what I do and whatever gain I get from this is just a side effect of my undying love affair with my camera.

Photography is much about exposing your view, but there’s so much more going on beneath the surface.  There’s a complicated concoction of thoughts and feelings that drive the impulse to lift a camera to your eye, to compose the raw material of what’s present, and to wait patiently for the proper moment of capture when time and space sync and align.
