Temple of Leah: Othello & Cherry
I was there again! Temple of Leah. It has been very popular among photographers as a prime location for engagement sessions. I think the greatest challenge is how to use the place in ways that I haven’t photograph it before.
A day before Othello and Cherry’s engagement session, I racked my brain and imagined how the shoot would look like. I imagined morning dew and the soft morning light. Sunrise!! I was there minutes before the call time (6am)… As the minutes ticked and the team (make up artist, stylist, and the couple) wasn’t there yet, my dream morning shoot and my imagined photos slowly ebbed away. It died its natural death as the harsh light started showing. The harsher it became the sadder I was!
Sessions are full of surprises like time management, rain, wardrobe, props that doesn’t seem appropriate and so much more. The best way to go when it comes to unmet expectation is to improvise and make do. Sometimes the unexpected makes the photos more authentic and beautiful. The Temple of Leah is a great challenge in my book. Not only because the light is just so out there with no trees in between the vast space to filter it, the color of the place is quite challenging too.
How do I set myself apart?
