Ormoc City wedding: Chris + Cherry Beck
The Sarao jeepney (a popular mode of transportation in the Philippines) that picked us up at the port had a banner on it – Chris & Cherry’s wedding. It was very unique and Filipino-ish. Cherry mentioned that Chris likes jeepnyes. Aside from jeepnyes, they also like anything Batman (which explains the matching Batman flip-flops in the previous post).
From the port, we found ourselves enjoying dinner at one of the bride’s relatives. I have to say that from the engagement shoot up until the wedding day, everything felt festive. When the vibe is like this, you can’t help but feel giddy and happy.
I can’t count how many times I exclaimed to the team, “I love this wedding.” Because it painted a picture of family. Closeness. Tight. You know what I mean?? One of the uncle of the bride in his speech said, “Uncles and Aunts that are like parents and cousins that are like brothers and sisters.”
The speech part is where I listen attentively. Because it is like being reminded of the beauty of marriage – perfect or not. Perhaps this is the reason why I shoot weddings for a living. Yes?
When the host asked everybody to join the bride and groom on the dance floor, in less than 2 minutes, everyone stood up and boogie away. Usually, guests take time to warm up to the idea of dancing. But this group, they swarmed the dance floor and did their thing.
To Cherry, Chris, and family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It was such a happy experience capturing moments with you.
