Of Valentines Day and a wedding : Ariel & Elounie
He clung to her after Elounie’s parents gave her away to man she will spend the rest of her life with. He embraced her and buried his face on her neck. It was a good two minutes before she let her go. But he looked at her lovingly and all I could tell myself that very minute, “Gosh! He really really love her!” And so my hopeless romantic self started reasoning that you know men should look at their woman that way. Like she’s the most beautiful woman in the world! That there will be no other one for me but you and you and you ALONE! That I will try my darnest to make every day of our lives happy!! That I will remind you every chance I get that I am very much in love with you.
Sigh!
They married on Valentines day! The feeds of Facebook and Instagram flooded with flowers and chocolates and happy surprises. I’ll be real, okay? I didn’t get any. No cute, heart fluttering valentines day message. No flowers or chocolates or a heart shaped cake. None of those I saw in Facebook and Instagram. I felt sad! A tiny bit! Okaaaaayy! A whole lot! But then I also knew that I get to spend my Valentines day capturing what it is intended for — L O V E! How very ironic, right?
Everyday should be like Valentines day. I’ve been saying this every 14th of February. But we should, really! On random days, a single stem flower that you can just buy in the streets of the city ain’t bad at all. I don’t need tulips or a very extravagant flower arrangement or a box of Lindtt chocolate. And oh a letter will make me really happy!
Let’s just feel the love everyday!
