Of cafes and love stories: Nelson & Evelyn
They were seated right across me when I asked them about their love story. I used to be so shy about asking, but I guess time and maybe experience taught me to just ask. The couples that I have photographed in the past lit up every time they start sharing their story. Nelson and Evelyn were classmates, but sparks didn’t fly. Nelson said it was only when they became adults (college or was it after college) when he took notice. He works at sea while Evelyn works as a programmer. There goes the distance again. And like always, I asked (again), “how do you go about communication”. It interest me how do they surpass distance and how do they make it real despite being away from each other.
There was something that Nelson said that struck a cord. I asked, “what made you decide to propose.” He said, “there was a calling!”
It was a lovely afternoon well spent with Geof (the stylist for this engagement session) and Ron (the make up artist). We talked about relationships and how crazy love can be. Here are some photos of Nelson and Evelyn.
