Family session: Resti + Ivee = Sofie

She ran here and there.  Turned her head the other way.  She moved as quick as a bolt of lightning. The next thing I know, she was nowhere inside my frame.

Each child I was privileged to photograph has different personalities.  Some warmed up right away and loved every minute of it.  That’s easy, right?  Others cried and clung to their parents.

Sofie didn’t like me to be up close and personal.  Perhaps she found my big camera intimidating.  I also think that bribes do not work with her.  Her parents brought balloons, but she ignored it.  Totally!  She remained a challenge until the very end.

But.

I like challenges.  I don’t want shoots to be easy breezy all the time.  When it comes to photographing kids, the more they try to run away, the more I go after them.  I don’t ask them to pose. I feel that I am taking away their candidness.  I want to capture their innocence and how they relate to their environment without me doing anything.

Family and child sessions are always fun to do.
