Family love: Kirby, Myrna & Randi

I had the loveliest time yesterday!

We’ve come a loooooonnngg way! It all started with their engagement session, the wedding, maternity, newborn session, and when Randi turned one. Time flew too fast little Randi’s turning two this month. Yesterday’s I turn one birthday session doubled as a maternity and family session.

Randi had other plans.

I had to let go of my Holdfast so that I could easily move around. I was on the ground most of the time because when it comes to little people, we adults need to see their world from their perspective and not ours. I always tell my clients that everything during their (little people) session shouldn’t be forced so as to get away with expectations and disappointments.

I have to be honest! It kind of puts a pressure on me as the photographer when they don’t stay long enough to allow me to take pictures of them in a set that was well prepared and thought of. Because for them it’s all play. Thus, I kind of say that we need to take the cue from them. I learned that the more I let them be themselves and let them do what interests them during the shoot, the easier it is.
