Here is the engagement session THE team (Angelo Kangleon & Deo Urquiaga)  did on their own some two weeks ago. I say “on their own” because I couldn’t be there—I was in Manila to attend the Nelwin Uy’s first ever photography workshop (read about that experience h e r e).  It was something I swore I wouldn’t miss for the world! While at the workshop, I couldn’t stop glancing at my phone to see how the shoot was going via Instagram—Manila-based stylist, Deo Urquiaga,  had posted photos of his inspiration boards, and some where behind-the-scenes sneak peaks from Angel.  I was so green with envy!

Dindin was tasked to style this session, because during the time of preparations Angel was in California/New York for vacation. Angel got back in time for the shoot.  I asked him if he could do it solo..  I felt that it was high time for him already to do it on his own.  He’s a fast learner and very passionate about photography and styling, too.

Don’t you just love the theme? Inspired by the 2001 movie Pearl Harbor! I don’t know how Deo managed to get all these gorgeous 1940s dresses inspired by the costumes that Kate Beckinsale’s character wore (the thing about Deo is he never reveals his sources, not even to us!), but they were all so spot on! Even the mid-century-style white bathing suit that Kate wore in the scene where she was sitting on the rocks overlooking the ocean, writing a letter to Ben Affleck’s character!

Eric and Godday, I am so sorry to have missed the chance to photograph your engagement, but like I said in a previous post, I attend workshops every chance I get because I feel I owe it to my clients and couples to constantly upgrade myself. I cannot wait to photograph you two on your wedding day.  I’m sure it will be as fun as this engagement session of yours!
