I

I enjoy portraits, mother child and family sessions. It pulls me away from the usual hustle and bustle of weddings and engagement sessions.  I get to recharge and awaken whatever sleeping creativity I have hidden somewhere.

Jade is a friend of mine I haven’t seen in a very long time. Our friendship wasn’t built with fragrant petals and all things pretty and nice. Like what she said, “I got crazy”.  Both of us did! Crazy. Then crazier and then craziest!  We all go through that, don’t we?

Friendships are like that.  It’s not always pleasant.  It has to reach a certain point when it has to go thru a rough patch, even ugly and sad confrontations. When it doesn’t break after all these, that’s when it gets deeper and sweeter.

Jade is still jade, only wiser and seasoned by time and experience.  Life happened to the two of us.
Portrait sessions are like finding a connection between two souls. It is not something done hurriedly or meeting a requirement. It’s simply being yourself, whether you are the subject or the photographer.  That’s why I must have something like this once in a while.  It makes all the other photo session fresh and interesting.  It breaks the routine.  Variety, for me, is very much welcome.

She’s so pretty! 🙂 Great capture, Malou. As always!

I just realized you posted this blog about our session! I couldn’t ask for anything more. The pictures look amazing and seeing you again was a treat. Here’s to life – the good, the bad and the in betweens!
